Our Speaker speaks the words of wisdom. Let it be

In these times of trouble, our Speaker, Mr. Tan Chuan Jin comforts us. He is speaking words of wisdom, so let it be. He posted on his FB page his message to Singaporeans to be sensible .
Many of us will want to workout normally, but we need to be sensible about it. We have seen our beaches closed because of the crowds. We certainly do not want our parks to be closed too.

So lets be sensible and take heed.

My takes from our Speaker’s post are:

  1. We do not need much space to workout. That is true. Mr. Tan was doing his routine in the pavement outside his house. (I am assuming it is his house) Watch his video above. I am doing my kettle bell workout on a little grass patch, watch my kettle bell workout video below. Read more about kettle bell workouts here.
  2. Avoid the parks for your runs when it is crowded. You can check crowds at parks, with this app https://safedistparks.nparks.gov.sg
My experience in normal times, tell me that, the best times to run at parks to avoid crowds are between 11-3pm. The sun is out, yes, but most parks have tree canopies to keep you out of the sun for most parts. The sun is good for you, it stimulates vitamin D production. Vitamin D has many benefits to our health. (1) So go run at these times and get producing your own vitamin D.
  3. Just be sensible and stay away from crowds
